Wine drinkers in Kwa Zulu Natal spend more on wine than any other South African province
Wine drinkers in the Western Cape and KwaZulu-Natal are prepared to splash out on far more per bottle than any other province in South Africa, according to a new report on pricing.
Accordng to South Africa Market Insights, the citizens of Kwa Zulu-Natal pay the most for their wine, at an average of R78.49, with the Western Cape coming in a close second, paying an average of R74.36 a bottle. Those living in Limpopo pay the least for wine, spending an average of R45.30 a bottle.
Comparing the average prices since 2010, the analysis found that the Western Cape pays 9% more for wine than KwaZulu-Natal, and a third more than those living in Gauteng. However, South African wine consumers will soon be seeing increases of up to 20% on local wines, according to Food 24.
